3-DECK GREAT ISTANBUL - BOSPHORUS TUNNEL
(TURKEY)

The 3-Deck Great Istanbul Tunnel is one of the most important civil engineering projects of the world actually at the planned stage. Undertake by the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Turkish government) to improve Istanbul's busy traffic and enable faster transportation between the European and Asian sides. The tunnel will pass below Bosphorus Strait at 80 m depth crossing limestone rock and marine sediments. A large tunnel is foreseen to contain 4 light traffic lanes (two in each direction and a metro line as shown).

Tunnelconsult participated in all the aspects of feasibility studies, alignment alternatives and preparation of basic design and specifications for tendering.

SUEZ CANAL CORRIDOR
(EGYPT)

Suez Channel corridor is an Egyptian development project aimed to expand the role of region at the east of Suez Canal as an economic, urban and environmentally balanced global hub for logistics, industrial services, commerce and tourism. The corridor includes six tunnels running under Suez Canal in Port Said and Ismailia, connecting Sinai Peninsula to western Egyptian governorates to facilitate the creation of new urban communities in the region. ​​

Tunnelconsult participated in the fesibility studies and Tender Design for Port Said tunnel and actively support the contractors for the Southern Ismailia tunnel. 

Swino tunnel geological & tunnel profile

ROAD TUNNEL BETWEEN ISLES OF UZNAM
AND WOLIN IN SWINOUJSCIE
(POLAND)

The city of Swinoujscie spans the opposite banks of Swina river laying on the Uznam and Wolin Island in the northwest of Poland at the border with Germany. The tunnel is part of the new road variant K1W1 that will connect the German Border and island of Uznam (western) to Wolin (eastern) crossing underneath the Swina. Swinoujscie project consists of a 1.44km long approx tunnel hosting two unidirectional lanes for light and heavy traffic.

Tunnelconsult participated in the feasibility studies and Tender Design participating in all geotechnical and structural aspects of the Project.
